Garage Dwellers

Max went into the garage today to throw something out and I heard him say "There's a rabbit in the garage!" I ran to look and sure enough- there's a bunny sitting right next to his car! The door was closed, so he either got in when the door was open, or he squished through a small opening where the door seal is missing. Max was pretty upset, it was kinda funny! He opened the door and chased the bunny out- he went to the yard between our house and the neighbor's house:

Here's the evidence that there's been a bunny in the garage!
It looks like we also have another furry friend residing in the garage too!

Here's Mr. Bunny hiding behind some shelves in the garage. He had COME BACK IN the garage after Max chased him out! He was acting like that was HIS house! Max chased him away again, and later we saw him across the street watching us!

I was helping clean up the turds and I saw the mouse* vole! Here's Mr. Mouse Vole running along this tube as I was chasing him out of the garage.

Here, Mr. Mouse Vole is just outside the garage as if to say "Ha, ha- I'm not in your garage anymore!"

I chased him away from the garage door entrance, and he was walking along the side of our house. He was going so slow that I had Max get a container. We initially caught him in a disposable Ziploc storage container, but it didn't have a lid, so I ran inside and got this container. While we were transferring the mouse vole between containers, he jumped out and fell on his back on the sidewalk! His head made a thud, as we were standing while doing this! Poor Mousie Volie in a Tokyo Joe's takeout container. I think he's alright though!

We drove to the greenbelt to set him free.

He didn't seem too excited to move to his new home!

Yeay! He finally decided to get out of the container!

He scurried under the grass and leaves and gets to live another day!

*Since I was wondering why his tail was so short, I looked it up. I'm thinking he was a vole, and not a mouse. Source

I LOVE your new blog! Your pictures are the best. I will be interested to see if you can successfully keep the rabbit evicted. Love, Mom
